Well it’s St. Paddys Day in New Orleans. The weather has warmed up. Everyone has gotten over the who dat flu. And things are back to normal; or at least what we call normal ……
Today is the traditioanl celebration of St.Patricks Day. Which means in New Orleans we’ve already had like a dozen parades. Last Friday was the Mollys At The Market Carriage Parade.
And Saturday was the Irish Channel parade.
And well I forget the rest ….. but tonite is the Downtown Irish Club Parade which in the great New Orleans tradition, is not downtown at all but starts in the Bywater, goes thru the Marigny and ends up in the French Quarter. So it’s sort of downtown, in the sense that’s it’s not Uptown. Or in Mid City. Or East New Orelans. Well except for the Bywater which is sort of East New Orleans but not really.
Well anyway it’s gonna be fun. And in three weeks we have the French Quarter Fest and then at the end of April, Jazz Fest.
Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, The Neville Brothers, The Radiators, Sonny Landreth, Marcia Ball …there are a few of MY favorite things.
Oh and these
Gotta run and paint my face blue … it’s an Irish thing!!
