Nearly 100 attorneys attended the Mississippi Bar Associations Bi-Annual Technology Seminar in Jackson MS this week.  Organized by Bar Director Larry Houchins and the MBA Technology Committe chaired by Atty. Hugh W. Tedder, popular sessions included Craig Bayer and The Tablet Lawyer, James Provence (pictured above) speaking on Essential Law Firm Technology, Rick Borstein of Adobe on Using Acrobat in Your Practice and the effervescent Adrianna Linares (who also took the photos here and is pictured below with Hugh Tedder and our old friend Atty. Hunter Twiford, Managing Partner of the Jackson office of McGlinchy Stafford) on Case Management Practice Pointers.

Other great sessions included Marketing Your Practice on the Web by Miss attorney Ronald Morton (also a member of the MBA Technology Committee) and Louisiana attorney Paul Rabalias; Web Based Practice Tools for Small Firms with Lexis Nexis representatives Keith Schneider of NetDocuments and John Falcone, Online Marketing Consultant at Lexis Nexis Martindale-Hubbell ; and and E-Discovery and Ethics presented by Hunter Twiford and myself. (shown below at a meeting earlier this year in New Orleans)

Finally, a special thanks to Derek Flower, Senior Account Manager at the ScanSnap group at Fujitsu. Craig and I feature ScanSanp products in all our small firm technology presentations and Derek gracioulsy provided a ScanSnap S300 for us to use in our demonstrations. It was a big hit and we had inquiries all day about it’s use in the small firm setting. Thanks Derek and thanks again to all our friends in Mississippi!
